Garnet Rogers will provide a very special concert on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 7:00 pm at the Duluth Congregational Church in Duluth, MN and will feature special guests McInnis' Kitchen.
Canadian-born Garnet Rogers has become a music legend well-known for his songwriting and performance of his original material which has been described as literate, passionate, highly sensitive, and deeply purposeful. Garnet sings extraordinary songs about people who are not obvious heroes and of the small victories of the everyday. His over-the-top humor and lightning-quick wit can move his audience from tears to laughter and back again.
McInnis' Kitchen brings the influences of Canadian places like Newfoundland and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia as well as Ireland and Scotland into their energetic music. It contains all of the emotion of the tradition, rooted in a history of immigration, uprooting and relocation, and a celebration of life and culture in their simplest forms. Their concerts transcend performance and evoke a special world of traditional culture and storytelling, giving their performances a sense of a ‘downhome kitchen party.’
The concert will be held at the Duluth Congregational Church, known for its rich acoustics. The church is located at 3833 East Superior Street in Duluth, MN. [map]
